Our next season of 24-7 Prayer is nearly upon us! Join us to pray day and night between the 20th-27th November in the Prayer Chapel. Our theme this time is ‘Waiting here for You’. Please consider booking a slot either on your own, with friends or together with your small group.
24-7 Prayer is an international, interdenominational movement of prayer, mission and justice that began with a single, student-led prayer vigil in Chichester, England in 1999 and has spread, by word-of-mouth, into 100+ nations. Along the way, 24-7 prayer has given rise to numerous new ventures particularly focusing on the poor, the marginalised, students and those outside the reach of normal church.
Last night as you slept – someone, somewhere was praying 24-7. In fact, right now, as you read these words, people are praying all over the world. This has been continuing every minute of every hour of every day since 1999. Participating groups simply find a venue in which to establish a night-and-day prayer vigil by splitting each day into one-hour shifts. At ASM our next season of 24/7 Prayer is nearly upon us! Join us to pray day and night between the 20th-27th November in the Prayer Chapel. Our theme this time is: ‘Waiting here for You’. Book yourself in to pray using the paper sign-up sheet in church, or you can book online here.
24-7 Prayer rooms have marked many of the greatest seasons in the growth of the Christian faith. The church was born in a 24-7 prayer room in Jerusalem on the day of Pentecost, and it was said of them ‘they all joined together constantly in prayer‘ (Acts 1:14). History tells us that if we want to see God change our town, our nation and our world; we need to pray. 24-7 prayer is a brilliant way to engage people who would never normally come to a prayer meeting, or even to church. Praying together for a season gives us the chance to persevere in seeking God. What will you ask Him for? Maybe you want to commit to praying every day for friends and family who don’t yet know Jesus.
If you need some more inspiration why not get hold of a copy of ‘Red Moon Rising’ by Pete Grieg (24-7 founder), or visit the website where you can find out all you need for inspiration and a life-changing experience of God’s presence. Book yourself a slot in the prayer room by using the paper sign-up system in the Prayer Chapel. Why not book some slots together with your friends, discipleship group or prayer triplet?
