Bishop Wilson welcomes Graham and Sami Watts to the Parish

Graham and Sami WattsGraham and Sami Watts were formally welcomed to the Parish and licensed as Team Vicars at a service led by the Rt Revd Dr Alan Wilson, Bishop of Buckingham, at All Saints’ in Marlow. Graham and Sami, both ordained Vicars, will take responsibility for St Mary the Virgin in Marlow Bottom in what will be a new and exciting venture for them following their move from Emmanuel in Northwood after eight happy years.

“To be setting up a job share where you are equal partners in a ministry to which God has called you both; to know that you are complimentary to one another in the gifts that God has given you; to know that you’ll be working alongside one another in the context of a team that is rich and varied in its gifting is just so exciting” Bishop Wilson told Graham and Sami in front of a packed congregation.

One of the main tasks set before Graham and Sami is to plant a new church community, one with a particular focus on families. While this may seem a daunting task, it is one they both relish. Speaking of the importance of families to the church, Graham told how “it’s what makes the church unique – young and old meeting together with a shared purpose and commitment to grow our relationships with one another and with God.”
