Marlow

Welcome to the church by the bridge

Welcome to the church by the Bridge which for nearly two centuries has been the iconic image of Marlow. In its central location, the church is not just at the heart of Marlow geographically, but also spiritually.

If you would like to take a virtual tour of the church, just click here.

Over the years as we have tried to respond to his call, God has shaped us to be the church we are today.  We have articulated eight values that describe who God is calling us to be.  They are summarised by the words 'God Brings New Life' and are described in this diagram below.  These values call us to action.  We believe God is calling us to invite Marlow to share God’s love.  We believe He has amazing plans for Marlow that we will see as we respond.

New to the Church?

Whether you’re visiting Marlow and just passing through, or you live in Marlow and are looking to find a new church, perhaps you are just starting to explore the Christian faith, we want you to feel welcome in All Saints Marlow and come to think of it as home. You will find plenty of information on this website about the church, what we believe and what we do, but if you want to find out more then we’re always happy to talk.

On occasion he assists with the monthly all age services in church – something he particularly enjoys doing when his friends, the children of Sandygate, come to help lead the service too. He can often be found consoling small children with bumps or grazes, or overseeing activities from his favourite armchair in the crèche.

History

Though there was a church in Marlow as early as 1070, the present Church of All Saints is a Victorian creation, built after the spire of the old church collapsed in 1831. The old building was demolished, and a new church constructed of Bath stone, topped by a graceful spire soaring 170 above the town. The combination of spire and bridge form one of the most unforgettable Thames sights.
