There are many volunteering opportunities within the church community

We would love to hear from you if you would be willing to help volunteer within our church community.

It takes many people to put on all the different services and activities we offer, to look after our buildings and land, to provide pastoral care, to serve our local community, and to reach out in mission. We therefore have many on-going opportunities to get involved, as well as some one-off events for which we need helpers.

One of our church values is to ‘Give Like God’; because we believe that God has given everything for us, so we eagerly respond by being outrageously generous, with our time, energy and finances. We also believe that God has given each one of us a unique part to play in the life of the church.

Whether you have a few hours per day to offer, or an hour per month, there are hundreds of ways for you to get involved in the life of the church.

We are currently looking for volunteers to help with the following opportunities:

  • Cleaning the church building
  • Helping to run our youth groups (see more details below)
  • Helping to maintain the Churchyard
  • Singing in our choir
  • Playing a musical instrument in our worship band
  • Welcoming or stewarding at the 10:59am Sunday service

Please contact the Parish Office at parish.office@4u-team.org to find out more about any of these opportunities.

Helping to run our youth groups – Axis and Cake

We have a fantastic group of young people who meet weekly on Wednesday evenings, 6.30-8pm (normally in-person, but online during lockdown). We love to play games, eat pizza and spend time praying and exploring life with God. We split our time between three areas; God in the world, God in our lives, and fun and games.

We currently have more kids wanting to join from the younger ages. This is amazing, but means we have a need to split our groups into an older group and a younger group. To support this change, we are looking for more volunteers to support the leaders, Matt and Lora, by attending the sessions and joining in with discussions, prayer and games. We need people who want to have fun and share their faith with our young people – could this be you?

Other opportunities

There are many other volunteering opportunities that aren’t centrally coordinated by the church, such as helping with local charities and community groups – some of which are listed on our wider community page.
